Boys' Swim

On Tuesday, December 17th, Boys’ Swim traveled to Edgerton to take on Platteville Lancaster, Beloit Memorial, and Edgerton Evansville in a triple dual meet. Coach Myra Fox said, “This was a great start to the conference season, and we’re looking forward to ongoing improvements!” The boys brought home a win against Platteville Lancaster and recorded seven personal best times in the 14 individual events entered. Highlights for the Hawks included first-place finishes by Jack Borzynski ’26 in the 200 IM (2:06.35) and 100 Fly (54.62) and Nolan Mrotek ’26 in the 100 Breaststroke (1:09.95). The 200 medley relay team of Nolan Barrett ’27, Borzynski, Mrotek, and Maksim Rozzoni ’28 brought home second place with a time of 2:00.12. Barrett had a pair of third-place finishes in the 200 IM (2:27.45) and 100 Fly (1:07.45). Well done, Hawks!

Boys' Basketball

After two close losses earlier in the week, the Hawks returned to the win column on Saturday, December 14th, against St. Augustine Prep at Grafton. The Hawks ended with a 70-61 win over the Lions, coached by Prairie alumnus Reid Koenen ’12. Game MVP Nolan Greb ’26 led the way with 22 points on eight of nine shooting. Dalton Ahlensdorf ’27 added 21 points with 12 rebounds.

The Hawks took on Dominican in the Johnson Athletic Center on Tuesday, December 16th, and fell 84-62. Behind Carsen Eeg ’25, who had 19 points and seven assists, the Hawks closed the gap to seven points in the second half, but some costly turnovers and Dominican’s impressive shooting put the game out of reach. The Hawks will welcome cross-town rival St. Catherine’s to the JAC on Friday, December 20th.

Girls' Basketball

On Friday, December 13th, the Hawks traveled to St. Joe’s and won 72-39. JJ Barnes ’25 scored a career-high 38 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. The Lancers’ leading scorer, who averages 26 points per game, was kept in check by Meg Decker ’25 and only scored nine. “Our transition game was not as potent as usual, and we were never able to get into a good flow offensively, but we were able to leave with a quality conference victory,” said Coach Abby Jaramillo.

Continuing their slate of conference games, the team played on the road at Dominican on Monday, December 16th and came away with a 47-32 win. “It took us a while to adjust to Dominican’s box and one on Barnes, but our press, along with hard-nosed half-court defense, allowed us to create some quality offensive possessions,” added Jamarillo. “Despite Domincan’s defensive efforts, JJ had another stellar performance with 25 points and 13 rebounds.”

On Thursday, the girls played at Racine St. Catherine’s and beat their cross-town rival 86-67. Despite an early lead by St. Catherine’s and some shots that weren’t falling for the Hawks, the girls still took a 40-18 halftime lead, with Barnes scoring 18 of her game-high 29 points in the first half. Decker added another 25 for the Hawks on the way to the conference victory. Chloe Babu ’27 added 16 points, while Keira Kimbrough ’27 grabbed 14 rebounds. The girls look forward to challenging games over the winter break and are eager to improve their performance. They’ll play Appleton Xavier on Saturday, December 21st, in the Johnson Athletic Center to kick off their four winter break games slate.
