The Prairie School, a child-centered, college-preparatory day school is seeking a part-time assistant to work Monday thru Friday, from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. The Primary School seeks an energetic, outgoing professional to support our extended day program as an assistant.

Responsibilities include organizing and supervising programs that will engage students ages 3-13 years of age. Candidate must be flexible to changing situations, with the ability to multi-task. The successful candidate will work well in a professional environment, be flexible in schedule, a team player with good verbal communication skills and have basic computer skills including entry level Word & Excel. Candidate must be a self-starter and maintain excellent attendance. Hourly wage is based on experience.

Accounts Payable Business Office Assistant, part-time:

The Prairie School is seeking a detail-oriented, professional communicator and confidential Accounts Payable Assistant to join the school in October 2018.  The ideal candidate must have experience working collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholders on a daily basis. Strong writing skills and interpersonal skills are a must. The successful candidate must be able to perform timely administrative duties for the Assistant Head of School for Finance and the Business Office, in a specialized, professional and confidential manner. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounts payable, prepare and process electronic transfers and payments, post transactions to journals, ledger, and other records. H/She will work closely with other team members and administration.


A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.  Expert knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel is required, along experience in Blackbaud is a plus. 5-10 years experience in a school setting is preferred.

Position:  Hourly nonexempt, Part-time

The Substitute Teacher will take the place for the primary teacher during their absence.

Required Professional Qualities:

  • Hold a valid State of Wisconsin teaching license (Substitute or Standard).
  • Possess evidence of other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the Division Head.
  • Manage the classroom environment according to the current school ethos and culture.
  • Promote student learning in the absence of the current subject-area teacher.
  • Provide guidance as an advisor/advocate.

Food Service Assistant/Dishwasher – Hourly position – This position performs a wide range of duties involving cleaning dishes, kitchen, food preparation equipment, utensils and other areas deemed necessary. May assist in the set-up, and service; as appropriate to the school.  This position reports directly to the Food Service Director.


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience working as a dishwasher
  • Experience working in a school setting a plus

Hours 10:30-2:00 Monday through Friday (when school is in session)
