The Prairie School is seeking to add a strategic, creative, detail-oriented team player to its fundraising staff. The Director of Advancement oversees the internal operations of the school’s Advancement Office, develops and executes sophisticated annual giving and alumni programming, manages a comprehensive stewardship program, directs the execution of advancement events, and grows and maintains volunteer relationships.  He or she will report to the Assistant Head of School for Community Relations and will directly supervise both the Advancement Database Assistant and the Assistant Director of Advancement. He or she will have highly-developed relationship-building skills, demonstrated success in managing both programs and people, and excellent oral and written communication skills.  The successful applicant will exhibit a growth mindset and a passion for continuous improvement and innovation. 

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor’s degree and seven or more years of fundraising experience.

The Art Department of the Prairie School seeks an energetic, outgoing professional to join our Middle/Upper School division. The position is designed to provide introductory art activities to students in our Middle and Upper School grades. The successful candidate must have experience with a wide variety of art media, a joyful growth mindset, possess a desire to collaborate with colleagues, and be able to engage and guide a diverse group of students to help develop and grow each student to his or her highest potential. Ideal candidates will also need knowledge of and experience using technology, including iPads in the classroom.

Qualifications:
A degree in Art Education or a Bachelor of Fine Arts is required. A Master’s degree and 3-5 years experience teaching are preferred but not required.

The Physical Education Department of The Prairie School seeks an energetic and flexible individual to teach full time for the 2018-19 school year. The successful candidate will be required to teach physical education and health classes, K-12th grade. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, leading or assisting with advisory, extracurricular activities and coaching. The candidate must possess strong classroom management skills, a passion for physical education and be able to relate that passion to students. The ideal candidate will have the skills necessary to differentiate instruction, taking students at their developmental levels and supporting growth academically, socially, and emotionally. We offer a team of outstanding teachers, a positive work environment, and small classes.

Qualifications: The minimum requirement is a Bachelor Degree, with 3-5 year experience teaching K-12 P.E. and Health.

Our Primary School Division is searching for a passionate, creative, collaborative, and articulate teacher to join our 1st Grade Program for the 2018-2019 school year.  The ideal candidate must have a growth mindset, possess strong classroom management skills, an excitement for teaching, and experience in teaching 1st grade students. The ideal candidate will have the skills necessary to differentiate instruction, taking students at their developmental levels and supporting growth academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Prairie School, a child-centered, college-preparatory day school is seeking a part-time assistant to work Monday thru Friday, from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. The Primary School seeks an energetic, outgoing professional to support our extended day program as an assistant.

Responsibilities include organizing and supervising programs that will engage students ages 3-13 years of age. Candidate must be flexible to changing situations, with the ability to multi-task. The successful candidate will work well in a professional environment, be flexible in schedule, a team player with good verbal communication skills and have basic computer skills including entry level Word & Excel. Candidate must be a self-starter and maintain excellent attendance. Hourly wage is based on experience.

The Substitute Teacher will take the place for the primary teacher during their absence.

Required Professional Qualities:

  • Hold a valid State of Wisconsin teaching license (Substitute or Standard).
  • Possess evidence of other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the Division Head.
  • Manage the classroom environment according to the current school ethos and culture.
  • Promote student learning in the absence of the current subject-area teacher.
  • Provide guidance as an advisor/advocate.
