Girls' Volleyball 🏐
On Tuesday, October 15th, Girls’ Volleyball honored their 11 seniors before they took on conference rival Racine Lutheran. In the hard-fought match, the Hawks fell 3-1 (13-25, 25-20, 17-25, 23-25). Anna Johnson ’25 led the Hawks with 25 digs, enough to set a new school record for career digs. Other highlights were Chloe Kennedy ’25 with eight kills, Izzy Baumgardt ’25 with five blocks, and Bridget Cafferty ’25 with five kills as a setter. The team brought the energy and will use this match as a motivator as they enter WIAA postseason play. They will open the playoffs as the #5 seed and take on #4 seed St. Joe’s on Thursday, October 24th, in Kenosha.
Cross Country🏃♂️
Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country traveled to McCarty Park on Thursday, October 10th. Despite this being a new course for the Hawks, they came away with three personal bests. Nolan Gasser ’25, at 19:17, led the way in the boys’ race. Cole Johnson ’27 also achieved a personal best with a time of 20:53, and Zander Rangel ’28 finished strong with a time of 21:23.
The sole Prairie finisher in the girls’ race was Sophia Gunia ’28, who set a personal best time of 25:15.
Girls' Tennis 🎾
As a special qualifier for the WIAA Division 2 Singles Tournament, Laini Alexander ’25 fought through a tough match against her opponent from Kohler on Thursday, October 17th. Although falling 6-2, 6-1, Alexander played some exceptional tennis. Thank you, Laini, for a great season!
