The Hawks took on Union Grove on Thursday, October 10th, in a hard-fought, 2-1 loss.  Coach Manley was proud of the boys’ grit and ability to stay with a quality opponent.

On Wednesday, October 16th, the boys celebrated their seniors in style with a 3-0 conference win over Racine Lutheran. All six seniors started the game and made their mark on the field. While the Hawks struggled at times to find the final pass or decisive touch, they controlled the match from start to finish. In the 15th minute, Victor Rossi ’28 opened the scoring after Sonny Wilton ’25 threaded a perfect pass through traffic. Coach Manley praised the defensive work of Gabi Kuvshinikov ’25, Jon Orth ’25, and Emmett Wassil ’28, who locked down the backline in the first half, stopping any counterattacks. The second half saw more scoring action, with Wilton netting a goal off an assist from Roy Rivera ’26, and Rivera finding the back of the net thanks to a setup by Arnav Deshpande ’25. Phil Ginestel ’27, in a new role, stepped up and delivered a standout performance that helped seal the victory.

In their second game in as many days, the Hawks traveled to Burlington on Thursday and lost 2-1. After a slow start necessitated a tactical change at intermission, the team created a number of second half chances highlighted by Wilton’s goal off a great pass from Rivera. The game concluded the Hawks’ regular season, and they will continue pushing to improve as the postseason now begins. The fifth-seeded Hawks will host #12 Living Word Lutheran next Thursday, October 24th at 4PM in the opening round of the WIAA Division 3 Tournament.
