Boys' Swim
Boys’ swim competed in a double dual meet against Elkhorn and Whitewater High Schools on Tuesday, January 14th. The Hawks finished with six first place finishes, four new team records, and several new personal best times. Jack Borzynski ’26 finished first in the 100 Meter Fly (1:00.06) and the 200 IM (2:18.66), setting new team records in both events. Nathan Breit ’26 also took home first in two individual events with a 2:11.71 in the 200 Meter Freestyle and a 1:03.59 in the 100 Meter Backstroke. Nolan Mrotek ’26 brought home a first place finish in the 100 Meter Breaststroke with a time of 1:18.64. Relay teams of Breit, Borzynski, Mrotek, and Nolan Barrett ’27 took first in the 200 Meter Medley with a time of 2:02.43 and second place in the 400 Meter Freestyle with a time of 4:10.96, which represents a new team record for the Hawks. Way to go, Boys’ Swim!
Girls' Basketball
Girls’ Basketball took on conference opponent Shoreland Lutheran on Tuesday, January 14th in the Johnson Athletic Center and won 84-21. JJ Barnes ’25, who was recently featured as Fox6’s High School Hot Shot, led the Hawks with 26 points, including 14 in the first half. Meg Decker ’25 continued to spark the defensive efforts and added 14 points on the offensive end. Keira Kimbrough ’27 also contributed double-digit scoring for the Hawks with 10 points. The Hawks head to Union Grove for their next game on January 18th at 5:30PM.
Boys' Basketball
Boys’ Basketball fell in a tight game at Shoreland Lutheran on Tuesday, January 14th. Despite being tied at 25 at the half and having a clean look at the final buzzer to tie the game, the boys ultimately were beaten 49-46. Coach Jason Atanasoff said it was an “intense high school basketball game. Our boys are resilient, and hopefully, we can clean some things up heading into Saturday.” Dalton Ahlensdorf ’27 led the Hawks with 16 points and eight rebounds, Ryan Vanoss ’27 added 11, and Nolan Greb ’26 rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points. The boys are back to work in preparation for their next game on Saturday, January 18th, at Union Grove.
