Facilities at Prairie

Facilities

Forty-seven acres and 300,000 square feet of student-centered, collaborative education.

When you visit Prairie’s campus, there are certain things that stand out. The beautiful brick along the interior and exterior of the building. Carpeted hallways and classrooms that soften the thousands of steps walked each day. Windows that allow incredible amounts of natural light to filter into every space. It’s truly a work of art. What you may not see, though, are the intricacies, the systems that allow students and faculty to come to school and focus on learning, teaching, and doing. From HVAC and plumbing systems to furniture and equipment in dozens of classrooms to safety and security campus-wide,  Prairie’s facilities require thoughtful care and attention to ensure our students have a safe, welcoming environment every day.

Maintenance, repairs and replacements can be extensive and costly, and occur as a result of both immediate need and long-term planning. When you direct a gift to Facilities, you are championing for the future of Prairie, ensuring that the beautiful grounds we enjoy now are here for the next generation.

Gifts to Facilities support:

  • Redesigning of spaces to accommodate ever changing need
    • Soundproofing the Leipold Recital Hall
    • Moving entrance ways for better flow
    • New group meeting spaces
  • Camera and security upgrades
  • Building improvements such as updated LED lighting and reupholstered hallway benches
  • Snow removal equipment

A Lifetime of Impact

The impact you hope to have on Prairie can determine the type of gift you’d like to make. Below are two options that ensure our school can operate for years to come, and allow you to leave a legacy of support for Prairie.

Endowed Gifts

Prairie’s endowment operates like a long-term savings account, where the school uses a portion of the interest to fund daily operations, faculty development, and scholarships. The endowment is a critical part of Prairie’s past, present, and future stability. Our annual budget incorporates endowment income as a key piece of our overall revenue.

Gifts or pledges of any size may be made to the general endowment; with a gift or five-year pledge at $25,000 and more, a donor may choose to create a named fund with their contributions, which can be made at any point in the year using a variety of gift vehicles – from cash to appreciated securities.
