A 3,000 square foot Fitness Center located in the second floor of the Johnson Athletic Facility (JAC). Current students utilize the JAC for PE classes as well as team strength and conditioning training. Bring your own personal headphones to enjoy Sport Center on flat screens during your workout. The facility offers a variety of equipment and provides individuals all around workout opportunities.

Fitness Center and/or Track Only Membership

Visiting alumni may register for complimentary short-term use of the JAC. Current staff and coaches and their immediate family members may register for complimentary Fitness Center and/or Track memberships. Click on the Athletics Registration portal link located to the right. NOTE: Annual registration is required.

Sammie Wagner
Director of Fitness Center
Strength and Conditioning Coach

Sammie is currently in her first year as Fitness Center Director/Strength and Conditioning Coach after spending two years as the Assistant Athletic Director. Sammie has always had a passion for fitness and helping others reach their goals. She has experience working with a wide range of clients including youth, high school and college, as well as adult athletes of all ages.

Prior to joining Prairie’s Athletic Department, she spent two years as the graduate assistant women’s basketball and strength and conditioning coach at Carthage College. During this time, she also worked as personal trainer and group fitness instructor at Legacy Gym MKE. These experiences helped her learn how to work with a variety of clients with different backgrounds and goals.

Sammie’s coaching philosophy is to help people become the best version of themselves through hard work and dedication. Her goal is to leave a lasting impact on every athlete and client she works with, striving to connect with them on a personal level and empower them to reach heights they never thought possible.

Haiden Kraus
Fitness Center Intern

Haiden is a dedicated fitness professional with a diverse background in health and wellness. As a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Haiden brings a wealth of experience to her roles as the Fitness Center Intern, a personal trainer at Flex Fitness in Racine, and a class instructor at both facilities. Her passion for exercise and overall health is evident in their work, where she strives to inspire clients of all ages to achieve and maintain longevity through enjoyable and effective fitness routines.

With a foundation built on two years of health sciences education and ongoing studies toward a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and Technology (HIMT), Haiden combines academic knowledge with practical experience. Previously, she has worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant and a Nursing Assistant, gaining valuable insights into the needs of diverse populations and the importance of personalized care.

Her approach to training is centered on helping clients find and enjoy exercise that fits their lifestyle, ensuring they can sustain a healthy lifestyle long-term. Whether through weight lifting, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), low impact workouts, or stretching and mobility, she is committed to guiding each person toward their fitness goals with a focus on lasting health and well-being.
