The School is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvements. It is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, The College Board, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the Cum Laude Society, and the National Association of College Admissions Counselors.

The Prairie School is an academic community whose doors are open to all students without regard to race, religion, age, sex, or national origin, and complies with the regulations regarding handicapped students required by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
