What Being a Hawk Means to JJ:
“Being a Hawk is about hard work and dedication, both in the classroom and in sports, and knowing that you will always have a great community surrounding you. Prairie is a place you can always call home. Being at Prairie allows you to create close bonds with your friends, teammates, and teachers,” JJ shares.
JJ’s humility and dedication to her team stands out to her teachers and coaches. “The first time I talked to JJ about a basketball game, while she could have told me all about her personal performance, she chose to focus on her teammates first. I think that’s really telling about the kind of person she is,” said Mari Grobschmidt, Head of Upper School. “JJ works as hard in the classroom as she does on the court. She is a dedicated student and athlete, a really genuine person, and takes things on with intensity. She’s an impressive kid who’s truly one of a kind.”
Coach Abby Jaramillo echoed these sentiments: “JJ has been a dedicated, hardworking, and consistent student-athlete over the course of her time at Prairie. She gets it done in the classroom as well as on the court. JJ comes to practice every day focused and willing to put in the extra effort that it takes to bring our team to the next level. She is a leader by example and has been a major contributor to the positive and supportive team culture that our program has established.”
JJ’s talent, leadership, and relentless drive make her a Hawk You Should Know!
