Faculty Enrichment at Prairie

Faculty Enrichment & Support

Never stop learning and growing.

Some of the most important role models a child can have are teachers. They are a daily presence, imparting wisdom, encouragement, and compassion for each of their students. At Prairie, faculty are not only responsible for teaching a growth mindset, but living it in and outside of the classroom. Across all disciplines and divisions, teachers are committed to being experts in their field and seeking out opportunities to dig deeper, explore, and grow. Past enrichment experiences include workshops through the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences, a summer institute at Columbia University’s Teachers College, and the creation of an independent record label to showcase local talent.

Gifts to Faculty Enrichment support:

  • Interest-based professional opportunities identified by individual faculty members
  • Funding for masters degrees, graduate coursework and workshops that further a faculty member’s professional education in the area of their teaching expertise.
  • Funding for educational, once-in-a lifetime opportunities to faculty with fifteen or more years of teaching experience.
  • Educational software to promote classroom management and individual learning.

A Lifetime of Impact

The impact you hope to have on Prairie can determine the type of gift you’d like to make. Below are two options that ensure our school can operate for years to come, and allow you to leave a legacy of support for Prairie.

Endowed Gifts

Prairie’s endowment operates like a long-term savings account, where the school uses a portion of the interest to fund daily operations, faculty development, and scholarships. The endowment is a critical part of Prairie’s past, present, and future stability. Our annual budget incorporates endowment income as a key piece of our overall revenue.

Gifts or pledges of any size may be made to the general endowment; with a gift or five-year pledge at $25,000 and more, a donor may choose to create a named fund with their contributions, which can be made at any point in the year using a variety of gift vehicles – from cash to appreciated securities.
