What Being a Hawk Means to Cecilia:

Arriving as a Portuguese speaker in 2nd Grade, she quickly embraced the challenge of learning English, showcasing her resilience and adaptability. Now in 7th Grade, she is known for her unwavering kindness and leadership; Cecilia consistently supports her classmates, making her a trusted friend among her peers.

When asked what being a Hawk means to her, Cecilia said, “It means being open-minded and kind to everyone because everyone is fighting unseen battles.”

Academically, Cecilia excels across all subjects, demonstrating exceptional talent and dedication. Her infectious optimism uplifts both classmates and teachers alike, embodying Prairie’s mission in the classroom and on the court, where she thrives in tennis and volleyball. As Kathy Boero, Head of Middle School, stated, “Rarely do I meet a student who radiates kindness and selflessness as Ceci does each day.”

This school year, Cecilia has already stepped up as a hallway guide for MS Back to School Night and taken on the Manager of Recess Equipment role, always responding enthusiastically to any opportunity to help. We are proud to celebrate her as a Hawk You Should Know!
