What Being a Hawk Means to Laini:
Laini aptly describes being a Hawk as a testament to grit, perseverance, and collective support. “For me, being a Hawk means being willing to put the work in for every sport. This could mean working one-on-one with coaches or helping out your fellow teammates. Being at Prairie creates a close bond with peers and coaches. This bond ultimately makes your skills the best they can be.”
Her willingness to put in the work extends beyond personal goals. She actively supports and uplifts her teammates, embodying the values of great sportsmanship and camaraderie. Girls’ Tennis Coach Nich Schafer can attest to Laini’s dedication, stating, “Laini is small, but she is mightier than most. One thing she has never done is quit. She has beaten many opponents who are already looking past her and at their next opponent, only to have Laini humble them.”
We are proud to have someone as dedicated as Laini to represent Prairie. We are excited to see the positive impact she will make in her remaining time here and beyond after she graduates in the spring.
