Make a Meaningful Impact

The Prairie School is grateful to the long history of philanthropy and generosity of spirit that exists among members of our community. Financial support from parents and guardians, grandparents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends provides exceptional opportunities and outstanding resources for our students and programs. The Advancement team manages giving and volunteer opportunities for the school and works closely with the Board of Trustees to ensure our school’s financial security.

The Prairie Fund

Your gift to the Prairie Fund leads to inspiration and achievement at The Prairie School. Generosity from our current families, alumni, alumni parents, grandparents, faculty and staff, corporations, and friends of Prairie affect the entire School, ensuring its physical health and academic vitality.

To contribute, or if you have questions, please contact Austin Gundlach, Assistant Director of Advancement at 262.752.2524.

Why give?

The generosity of the Prairie community plays a large part in making The Prairie school exceptional, and for that we are extremely grateful. Tuition does not cover the cost of educating a child, and the Prairie Fund ensures that we maintain the excellence of our program. From a practical perspective, we could raise our tuition to fully cover annual costs, but unlike gifts to the Prairie Fund, tuition is not tax deductible. All independent schools rely on donations from their community.

Who gives?

Parents, guardians, faculty, staff, grandparents, friends, and alumni. All are asked to help Prairie with a financial contribution.

How much?

Gifts of every size add to children’s education – $100, $200, $500, $1,000 – they provide paint for the art studio, supplies for experiments, jerseys for teams, and tangible impact student experience.

Did you know gifts of $250 or less totaled nearly $39,000 and gifts of $500 to $2,000 totaled nearly $89,000 last year?

If you want to make a larger gift, but can’t at this time, you can break it into monthly or quarterly installments via the online form.

Where does the money go?

Like every independent school, Prairie relies on donations to balance the budget – a budget that supports all of our academics, arts, and athletics. The Prairie Fund provides our school with the funding to sustain innovative curriculum, pay our teachers, and ultimately create a sustainable future.

I receive financial aid. Does this apply to me?

Yes. We ask that every Prairie family share the responsibility of the Prairie Fund. We strive for strong parent participation, regardless of the size of the gift. Please give any size gift that is meaningful to you.

How do I make a donation?

There are many ways you can contribute to The Prairie School. Every gift to our school, regardless of its size, sends a strong message that we are committed to our students, their education, and the future of The Prairie School.

For questions, please contact Hannah Keller, Director of Advancement, at 262.752.2530.
