Welcome to the 2019-20 school year!

Below, you will find step-by-step instructions to access and complete all necessary registration information.
Please be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page!

New to Prairie?

If the 2019-2020 school year marks your child’s first as a Prairie Hawk, please read through the information in this section. This applies to your new student, even if you have another child currently enrolled. If you are a returning family with no new students, you can scroll down to Step 1.

Welcome to our Prairie School community! We look forward to greeting you on campus this fall.
Mark your calendars: The following events are scheduled to welcome and orient you to our school community.

Primary School

ES - Grade 4

Ice Cream Social & Teacher Meet and Greet
Thursday, August 15th
5:30PM-7:30PM
Playground

This gathering will serve as a chance to meet and greet your child’s Primary School teachers and classmates.

 

Middle School

Grade 5-8

MS New Student Orientation
Monday, August 19th
Student Research Center (SRC)
Enter through Door #2

The schedule is as follows:

  • 3:00PM: All new 6th, 7th, and 8th graders
  • 4:00PM: All new and returning 5th graders
  • 5:30PM: MS Social & Teacher Meet and Greet (Playground)

Upper School

Grade 9-12

Summer Bridge (New to Prairie 9th Graders)
Tuesday, August 13th in the US Commons
Wednesday, August 14th in the Dining Room
Enter through Door #8 or Door #9

The schedule is as follows:

  • Tuesday: 8:00AM – 4:15PM, followed by a cookout on the JAC Patio
  • Wednesday: 11:30AM – 3:00PM

All School

New Parent Celebration
Tuesday, September 3rd
6:00PM-8:00PM
Giving Garden (SRC, in case of rain)

Step 1: General All-School Information

The general information below applies to all students, ES through Grade 12. Click each link to access documents.

Bus Information

You should get a notification from RUSD including your stop location, time, and bus number at least one week prior to the first day of school.

PowerSchool is the online system Prairie uses to track family contact information, student health records, and academic history.

Please click the button to the left to login. Review and update the data in each of the five sections listed, for each child. Don’t forget to change the date and click ‘Submit’ at the bottom of each page, even if your data remains unchanged!

Complete Summer Reading
All new and returning MS students are expected to complete reading assignments over the summer.

New families: Some assignments may require your child to know their Prairie ID, email address, and Google Classroom information — all of which your child will receive during New Student Orientation. If questions arise or your child wishes to submit any summer assignments before Monday, August 19th, please contact the appropriate teacher — all contact information is included in the Summer Reading document.

DEADLINE: Due dates vary

Register for MS Athletics

The registration portal will open on June 27th.

DEADLINE: Thursday, August 22nd

First Day of School: Where Do I Go?

In early August, families will receive a letter with their child’s locker number and the name of their Advisor, as well as their class schedule. As soon as you receive that notification, you are welcome to come walk through the schedule and say hi!

On the first day of school (Thursday, August 22nd), MS students should follow their B Day schedule.

Upper School

Complete Summer Reading
All new and returning US students are expected to complete reading assignments before classes resume in the fall.

New families: Some assignments may require your child to know their Prairie ID, email address, and Google Classroom information — all of which they will receive during Summer Bridge. If questions arise or your child wishes to submit any summer assignments before Tuesday, August 13th, please contact the appropriate teacher. All teacher contact information is included in the Summer Reading document.

DEADLINE: Due dates vary

Complete Summer Math
All returning US students should have received a Summer Math packet before the close of the 2018-2019 school year, and are expected to complete math assignments before classes resume in the fall.

New students are not required to complete Summer Math assignments, but if interested in doing so, may request a packet from Molly Lofquist Johnson in the Admission Office.

Register for US Athletics

The registration portal will open on June 27th.
